September’s The Digital Playground, presented by IDEA (the Imaging & Digital Entertainment Association) has added a tantalising new feature to the daily proceedings – the opportunity to win valuable photographic equipment, just by attending the trade show.
Each day, two registered visitor names will be drawn at random to receive photographic equipment with a value of up to $3,900 per prize. Entry is simply by attending the trade show and filling out an online form on several of the on-site iPad kiosks.
“The prizes are courtesy of our major partners such as Canon, Olympus, Nikon and Epson with additional prizes from Kayell Australia and Pixel Perfect,” says Vice President Professional of IDEA, Robert Gatto. “They will include great DSLR camera kits, Large Format Inkjet Printers and Elinchrom lighting kits; six lucky people will be walking out of the Digital Playground, or be notified if they have already left, with big smiles on their faces!”
Prizes confirmed so far include: an Nikon D 810 DSLR camera body valued at $3,900, an Olympus OM-D E-M1 Camera with 12-40mm f2.8 PRO zoom lens; 75mm f1.8 lens and FL-600R wireless flash, with a combined value of $3700; a Canon EOS 6D + 50mm f/1.4 lens valued at $3000; an Epson Stylus Pro 4900 inkjet printer valued at $3450; an Elinchrom D-Lite RX 4 studio flash kit with 2 flash heads, softboxes, reflectors and stands valued at $1,200 and a professional printing voucher to the value of $500.
The Digital Playground is presented by IDEA in association with the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers), as both a trade exhibition and seminar program inside a 300-seat theatre. Over three days from 12-14 September, visitors can see presentations from top speakers, workshops, exhibits and the Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards commonly knows as the APPA's. It is staged in Sydney’s Luna Park’s Big Top.
“Anyone with a keen interest in both still and video imaging technologies will experience unrivalled hands-on learning for both serious amateur and professional applications. It’s a unique event at an easily accessible venue and we encourage all photographers to broaden their creative horizons and rub shoulders with some of the most talented image-makers from Australia and around the world, see the latest equipment and, with a bit of good fortune, win one of the great prizes,” says Gatto.
The Digital Playground takes place from September 12-14 at Sydney’s Luna Park, adjacent to Sydney Harbour Bridge and absolute waterfront. Access is easy by train (Milson’s Point) or Ferry and plenty of car parking is within reach. Entry to the trade exhibition is free and Seminar tickets are available from as little as $55 on the Early Bird rate (up to July 31st)
Full details of the speaker programme and exhibition can be found on the web site.
