Applications for the 2015 GAMAA Industry Overseas Research Grant valued at $15,000 are now open and will close on 14th March, 2015.
Instituted by GAMAA in 2012, the Grant allows the successful applicant to undertake research with companies of their choosing anywhere in the world. The 2014 winner was Derek Williamson, Digital Imaging Manager, West Australian Newspapers.
The annual GAMAA Grant allows Williamson to explore trends in the UK and Europe in the continuous feed market, which he describes "as a new technology that plays a crucial role for long-term sustainability of print and one that has the potential for substantial growth over coming years".
GAMAA Executive Director Karen Goldsmith said, “Discovering world’s best practice and how these trends can be applied to the local market, are critical to the sustainability of the industry. The GAMAA Grant presents a fantastic and unique opportunity and we want to hear from those working in our industry who want to be part of the ‘where to next’ thinking”.
The GAMAA Grant is designed to offer the widest scope for research, which can be undertaken in marketing, new media, print, graphic design and other nominated disciplines related to the print media field. The outcome of the successful application will be a research paper documenting the recipient’s experience and how these learnings can be applied to the Australian market.
Those who are keen to apply for the Grant are encouraged to contact Ms. Goldsmith to discuss their proposal. Application forms are available from the GAMAA website.
Closing date: 14th March, 2015 with the winner announced at PrintEx15, 13-15 May 2015 at Sydney Showgrounds.
