Visitors to Roland’s stand at Visual Impact 2015 got a sneak preview at the new VersaUV LEJ-640FT flatbed UV printer, the latest addition to the impressive VersaUV series.
This innovative, industrial-strength inkjet can print directly on substrates up to 150mm thick that weigh as much as 100kg, including larger three-dimensional objects.
Greg Stone, Sales Manager told us that the VersaUV LEJ-640FT flatbed UV printer enables printing on a wide range of treated and untreated substrates with exceptional image quality.
"These include foam boards, Sintra, acrylic, cardboard, plywood, MDF, heat and pressure sensitive media - and everything in between!"
The LEJ-640FT’s rigid, all-steel frame reduces vibration, and adjustable pinpoint guides ensure precise registration. A zoned vacuum bed optimises suction to keep substrates of different sizes flat, while dual stepper motors incorporated with a rack and pinion drive system ensure accurate printing.
In addition to CMYK, the LEJ-640FT offers White and Clear Coat inks for creating POP displays, art, architectural signs and two-sided signs with high visual impact and unique dimensional effects.
Roland’s specially formulated instant-drying and flexible ECO-UV inks adhere to a wide range of treated and untreated materials with an exceptional color gamut. They also produce prints that can be stretched and applied around curved surfaces and edges without cracking.
It is also equipped with a patented Roland Automated Ink Circulation System that circulates the white ink in the printer every eight hours to prevent the settling of pigments in the ink lines. This ultimately reduces ink waste and eliminates manual maintenance.
The LEJ-640FT is operated through a user-friendly handheld EZ Controller, programmed to deliver 1/1000th of an inch accuracy for precision print registration and print head height adjustment.
Designed with the environment in mind, it features an energy efficient UV LED curing system that requires no warm up time and produces no ozone. In terms of safety, covers and UV filters protect users from accidental exposure to UV lights and injuries from moving parts.
Every VersaUV LEJ-640FT comes bundled with powerful VersaWorks RIP software, which includes the Roland Color System and Pantone libraries for spot colour matching.
From what we could see, the VersaUV LEJ-640FT flatbed UV printer was certainly drawing in the crowds at the show this year!
