Roland DG Australia was proud to be the platinum sponsor of another successful Visual Impact Expo in Melbourne last week. Roland DG showcased a wide range of products and creative applications and was also the major sponsor of the Australian Sign & Graphics Association’s (ASGA) national Wrap Master Challenge.

Visitors to the Roland stand were taken through an impressive display of equipment and applications, and were some of the first to view the stand’s key product, the new VersaUV LEJ-640FT Flatbed UV Printer. This innovative, industrial-strength inkjet prints exceptional quality images directly on substrates up to 150mm thick and weighing as much as 100kg, including larger three-dimensional objects, making it perfect for signage, interior decor, promotional items,

retail and exhibition displays and much more. Sales Manager, Greg Stone, commented: “The LEJ-640 generated a lot of interest on our stand. People were keen to see the printer in action, and see for themselves the quality of the prints that it can produce on a variety of materials”.
A major highlight on the Roland DG stand was the unique applications area, with visitors gaining inspiration and ideas from the broad range of innovative applications on display. In addition, the new GreenGuard Gold Certified WallFlair Removable Fabric was very popular, with many people impressed by the quality of the prints that it can produce, making it an ideal alternative to traditional vinyl wall graphics.
Following the success of last year’s event, the ASGA held the national Wrap Master Challenge again this year, hosting the final last Friday at Visual Impact. Key sponsors of the car wrapping challenge supplied prizes for the winners, with Roland providing a 1st place prize of a large format SOLJET PRO4 XR-640 Printer/Cutter. The challenge created much buzz and excitement and showcased the skills and team work of sign and graphics professionals from across Australia. Roland DG would like to congratulate all teams that entered the challenge over the past few months for their efforts and especially the team at Exotic Graphix from Victoria, who were pronounced the deserving winners. Roland DG wishes them luck next year as they take on the Kiwis in the Trans-Tasman Challenge in 2016.
Roland, doing its bit for deserving charities continued the “Print for Purpose” program at the stand once again this year. Materials used for demos and samples, including a range of banners and posters, were printed and will be given to the Starlight Children’s Foundation to help with their current campaigns. Not only could visitors to the stand see and touch the materials first hand, but the stock will be going to a worthy cause, reducing waste and helping those in need.
