Epson invited the press to listen to a very impressive presentation of several new product recently launched by Epson Australia, products ranging from projectors, domestic and office printers and label printers.
Relevant to our market was the P series of photographic printers and the F Series of textile printers.
The major theme that Epson wanted to convey to the the audience was the importance of Precision Core technology, a technology that has set, according to Epson, a new paradigm in colour perfection, faster speeds and lower cost of production. Precision Core has underpinned all these new printers and is also included in their new EcoTank desktop printers.
EcoTank printers come in a range of models with the base models having a price of $450.00 + GST, however the bigger price (compared to the sub $100.00 domestic printers) is justified by Epson in that the company almost guarantee that users will get two years of printing out of the ink that comes with the printer, thereby removing the age old hassle of buying expensive new ink cartridges on a periodic basis.
Wide Format Online has already reported on both the P and F series and these reports can be viewed by clicking here for the P Series and clicking here for the F Series.
With a new ink set, Epson claim the P Series is the world's first printer to be Pantone certified with the ability to reproduce 99% of the Pantone library. The new violent ink significantly increases the colour gamut whilst a new yellow will extend the durability of the prints and a new black will provide deeper and richer blacks on both gloss and matt paper.
In the meantime you can watch Epson’s full presentation below. If you want to fast forward to the segment dealing with the P and F series then fast forward to 22,44 minutes.
