Michael Punch, GM of the ASGA has just sent out the organisation's latest newsletter and it reminded me of the important services that ASGA provide.
For instance his opening paragraph highlights something that most employers probably have to consider at some stage of their career – issues relating to employment law.
ASGA have for several years now employed the services of Warwick Ryan, a legal boffin who has helped numerous ASGA members with their legal issues. In this issue, Michael highlights Enterprise Agreements and provides a link that fully explains this sometimes complex issue and provides an easy template for employers to follow.
He also goes on to describe what to do, or what not to do about the recent minimum wages set out by the Fair Work Commission. The advice and guidance could prove invaluable.
As stated earlier in this bulletin, ASGA have recruited Visual Connections to organise the Gala Awards ceremony.
Michael says that a record 514 entries across the eighteen categories were received and the judges faced a very challenging process in sifting through some outstanding work by sign technicians from all across Australia. The quality of work and the craftsmanship were so evident and will be on show for all to see at the September industry Trade Show in Sydney. The winners will be presented at the Gala Industry Dinner at WatervieW in Bicentennial Park on Friday 16th September, the middle night of the Trade Show. Popular identity Vince Sorrenti will be the event Master of Ceremony so the evening promises to be one of celebration and fun.
