The Colour Doctor – David Crowther of Colour Graphic Services has added Color Logic profiling and profile analysis software tools to his range of advanced colour management offerings.
“I saw ColorLogic on their internationall distributor’s stand at drupa, a company named Four Pees. Having tried out the ColorAnt and CoPrA products, I’m amazed at the quality of the colour profiles created. As anyone with even a fundamental knowledge of profiles knows ‘profiles ain’t profiles’ – the quality varies enormously. ColorLogic’s ColorAnt measures and analyses data before making the

profile and identifies any issues. CoPrA is a high quality DeviceLink and printer profiling solution based on the ICC standard and includes all essential tools and functions needed in order to create profiles of the highest-quality,” says Crowther.
Color Logic’s CoPrA uses ICC DeviceLink technology for RGB, CMYK, Grayscale, and Multicolor color spaces, as well as for switching between color spaces (e.g. RGB-2-CMYK DeviceLinks). It also features the possibility of saving color transformations of any kind, e.g. selective or global corrections, in the form of a DeviceLink profile.
ColorAnt is a standalone software module for Mac OSX and Windows platforms. Although part of the ColorLogic profiling solution CoPrA but can be purchased separately and supports colorimetric and spectral measurement data from various vendors of spectrophotometers, including Techkon which is also offered by Colour Graphic Services.
Crowther adds: “To put it simply, it’s all about creating the best colour profiles possible, without being a colour expert! The old adage ‘you can’t control what you have not measured’ applies. The quality of ICC profiles is always dependent on the quality of the measurement data, which is where ColorAnt comes in. Analyzing and optimizing data allows higher profile quality which leads to a higher reliability of the whole print production process. With this in mind, ColorAnt helps to optimize every printer profiling tool in the market, whether it is ICC-compliant or not.”
Support for ColorLogic software will be both from Colour Graphic Services plus online from Four Pees and with video tutorials such as the one below...
