Future Print, TAFE Queensland and Fuji Xerox Australia have teamed up to provide access to a limited number of subsidised places in the highly regarded Digital Colour Management Certification course (DCMC) to the industry.
The 20 module course is delivered fully on line and takes 15-20 hours to complete including assessments.
The course has been mapped against the industry training qualifications and successful completion will provide formal recognition under the national training system.
The cost for a participant who is working in a company with less than 100 staff is $831. The remainder of the $2,520 enrolment fee will be rebated through the Future Print Government subsidy when the participant successfully completes the course.
The rebate will be less for participants from larger firms.
The course is particularly relevant to people from a design or offset print background who want to know more about colour management in a digital print environment.
Successful completion of the course will enable participants to better:
•Identify, understand and control colour variables in a workflow
•Develop processes to maintain quality and consistency
•Become familiar with colour measurement and evaluation
•Understand the steps of colour transformation in a workflow
•Synchronise colour settings between RIP and applications
•Learn the impact of colour management and custom ICC profiles
•Manage spot colour in digital printing
•Troubleshoot colour problems more effectively

Module 18: Adobe Acrobat and Print Ready PDF
Module 19: Winning Recipe for Colour Printing
Module 20: Real-World Colour Management
N.B. In order to take advantage of this offer any new business in the project will need to complete a brief Future Print Business Review and Workforce Development Plan.
Proposed candidates will also need to have a minimum Certificate III qualification e.g. trade certificate to qualify for the subsidised training.
