In 2017 Women in Print (WiP) will celebrate its 10th year providing a unique forum for women working in the print media industry to expand their networks and at the same time, learn from some of Australia’s leading business women.

Now, with the program consolidating to a nationally-driven base, there are new opportunities to support this exciting initiative.
Originally an initiative of Heidelberg Graphic Equipment, WiP has over the past ten years evolved into an enormously popular and truly national industry-wide program. In 2017, the industry’s two premier associations, Visual Connections and Printing Industries will again facilitate the organisation of the events with help from the local Patrons in each state.

Since its inception Women in Print has attracted a diverse audience comprising women in senior management, sales and marketing through to those working in technical capacities on the shop floor. More than 2500 women have so far participated in the regular events, with over 350 women this year attending this year’s series of five breakfast meetings in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane to hear guest speaker Charlie Caruso speak about topics such as innovation, disruption and intraneaurship.
Karen Goldsmith, NSW Women in Print Patron noted that feedback was extremely positive regarding Charlie and the events with requests from attendees for more networking opportunities during the year. To that end, Women in Print will be hosting a breakfast at PacPrint17 on Wednesday 24th May 2017. This subsidised event will be made possible by the generous support received by our major sponsors in 2016, Media Super, Kwik Kopy and the IVE group.
As a not-for-profit event, however, she points out that Women in Print can only continue to operate at such an exceptional level with the support of the industry – and corporate sponsorship opportunities for 2017 as a Major Sponsor, Associate or Supporter are now open.
“Corporate sponsorship enables us to engage top level speakers and to ensure the five breakfast events we hold annually maintain the high standard our delegates now expect,” Goldsmith says.
“It’s not only a terrific initiative, it’s also a great opportunity for sponsors to demonstrate support for the industry while getting your company’s name and message in front of some of the industry’s leading executives and professionals.”
Goldsmith is this year joined by Jennifer Baile as State Patron in Victoria, Susan Heaney from Heaney’s Performers in Print as representative for Queensland, Marisa Rossi (BJ Ball) and Sandy Aspinall (Bowden Group) in South Australia and Olivia Grida from Advance Press representing Western Australia.
