Gandinnovations has launched a new high density UV curable white ink that allows printing on many coloured rigid substrates and achieve a brilliant white in one pass without any shadow effect.
The company also claims the new ink provides better adhesion to many rigid materials including corrugated plastic, styrene, PVC, acrylic and even other exotic substrates like metals, leather, brown cardboard stock and many more.
The white ink can be used as a “spot” colour to bring into focus certain parts of an image printed on coloured substrates and even on transparent media.
Another attribute of the ink is it's flexibility, they say. It will not crack even when the rigid substrate is bent 360 degrees.
"We have also used excellent white pigments to give good outdoor life without discolouring and cracking. Just like all our UV-curable inks, the GUV White ink is a 100% solvent-free formulation using only the safest radiation curable raw materials that does not result in the emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) making it both safe to use and environmentally friendly thereby reducing worker exposure to hazardous substances and environmental pollution." said Tom Reilly, VP of Marketing for Gandi.
The company has also stated that their UV inks achieve greater opacity with less amounts of ink laid down with one print pass, where competitive UV curable white inks usually require more ink laid down and more than one print pass.
