Pixalux® is already well established in the retail and commercial architectural sectors where the Pixalux® Structural Light Panel is enabling a wealth of innovative new lighting applications from illuminated display shelving to frameless double sided illuminated signage.
“We see signage and display as a natural progression for our edge-lit technology,” says Louw Van Tonder, Director of Pixalux®. “To address the unique needs of this sector, we have developed the Glowpro® brand of free-standing, double-sided illuminated A4 sign. Glowpro® is a counter top unit designed to accepted A4 sized backlit media that can be easily interchanged by the end user making it an agile system. There are many applications already including point of sale (POS), retail signage, way finding, and more. In addition to Glowpro®, Pixalux® Manufacturing Australia can make a range of custom sized illuminated panels to suit any project.”
Glowpro® uses Pixalux® light panel technology made in Australia from laminated acrylic using a patented process. The material is structurally strong and rigid, and can be fabricated to any size up to 1200 x 800mm, or 1800 x 300mm panels. Highly efficient LED strips are positioned along either one or two long edges of the panel depending on the size, to provide even, bright and non-heat producing illumination on one or both sides of the light panel. Power is via a 12 or 24 volt supply. Illumination can be standard cool white at 5700k, adjustable colour temperature from 3000k to 6500k, or dynamic RGB.
“Using existing wide format printers and backlight material, the graphics can be readily produced for slipping into the Glowpro® units that do away with fluorescent tubes, baffles, heavy casing hardware and unevenness typical of existing light box technology” says Van Tonder.
