Visual Impact Sydney starts this coming Wednesday 11 October, so industry professionals have only until tomorrow to preregister for the show, which will be the industry’s first at the new International Convention Centre at Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

The leading industry event will showcase the latest innovations and technologies from Wednesday until Friday afternoon, with a special ‘late night’ event until 8pm on Thursday, with drinks and finger-food served to visitors.
Dozens of exhibitors will be involved in the show which spans a range of industry sectors, from sign and display, to wide format and sublimation print, engraving and routing, and even vinyl fabrication. Leading names like Mimaki, Starleaton, HP/Neopost, Graphic Art Mart, Roland, Kiwo, Mutoh, AVS, Biesse, Jetmark, Yello Tools, Orafol, Trotec, Celmac and Multicam will be joined by many others to provide a comprehensive display.

The exhibition will be complemented by a packed ‘hands-on’ Workshop Program, covering topics from laser and colour management technologies, to printing and cutting techniques, vehicle wrapping and classic sign making skills.
“Our industry is increasingly diverse and dynamic, and trade shows are of proven value in helping decision makers compare and evaluate new technologies and services, and identify new business opportunities,” says Peter Harper, General Manager – Trade Shows & Publications for show organisers Visual Connections.
“Visual Impact is a great opportunity for industry professionals to gather the ideas, inspiration and information they need to plan their future direction, make important investment decisions and perhaps also identify important new revenue streams.”
While VI is aimed primarily at business owners and key decision makers, Harper says this week’s show will see an expanded involvement from students, with student-focused workshops each morning, and a group of 150 secondary-school STEM students, attending through Visual Connections’ strategic alliance with Re-Engineering Australia, liaising with exhibitors as they work on a model racing car project at the show under the watchful eye of special guest, motorsport champion Molly Taylor.
VI will open at 10am each day from Wednesday through to Friday, with a 6pm finish on Wednesday, 8pm close on Thursday, and 4pm finish on Friday. The late night, which will feature the added attraction of drinks and canapes for visitors, provides an opportunity to visit the show to many who might otherwise find attendance difficult, Harper says.
“We’ve listened to visitor feedback from previous shows, including our Melbourne event which co-located with PacPrint in May, and believe that the Wednesday to Friday format, with the late-night opening on Thursday is the perfect way to ensure as many industry professionals as possible can see the latest the industry has to offer – and also enjoy a catch up with their industry colleagues on the show floor.”
