Holland & Crosby, a Mississauga-based expert in point of sale marketing materials, has installed the first Inca Digital Onset printer in North America, sold by Fujifilm Sericol, Inca's long term worldwide distribution partner.
Holland & Crosby Limited was formed in 1997 with the merger of Holland & Neil Limited and J.W. Crosby Advertising-two of the most reputable names in Point of Sale marketing materials. As technology has changed, the company continues to provide the most innovative solutions to retailers, manufacturers and event marketers. Their investment in the latest state-of-the-art digital printing equipment has provided even greater internal process control on projects, and more cost effective products and services. With 33,000 square feet of office and production space, Holland & Crosby delivers exceptional results for clients who represent some of the most successful companies in the marketplace.
Last year, Inca introduced the Onset, a new large format UV digital flatbed printer. Handling print sizes up to 10.5x 5 ft (3.2 x 1.5m) at speeds of up to 5,382 sq ft /hr (500 sq m/hr), the automated Inca Onset delivers 100+ full bed sheets (or 300 3' x 5' posters) an hour. Edge-to-edge printing allows images to be printed to bleed on substrates up to 10 mm thick and up to 10 kg at full speed, providing enormous versatility in terms of what can be printed as well as the ability to proof a job on the material on which it will finally be produced. For all its sophistication, the Inca Onset is extremely easy to operate by one operator, with a nominal 20-minute set up time at the start of each day.
According to Holland & Crosby, the advantages of the Onset are clear. The company's promotional materials focus on quality, service and price-and the ability to deliver on all three. "The quality we have seen from the Onset is exceptional. Materials created on the Onset will have tremendous impact in retail environments," comments August Petrolo, Holland & Crosby's Marketing Director. Fujifilm Sericol's Uvijet UV digital inks for Inca Onset ensure exceptional density to create vibrant, durable, light-fast colors and, for the first time, the system can offer either a satin or gloss finish. "When shown the samples, customers are commenting that the full-color digital printing is striking. They are particularly impressed with the quality of the gloss settings," adds Petrolo.
The Onset enhances Holland & Crosby's ability to provide much higher service levels, well beyond the current industry standards. For a marketer who needs materials fast, there is very little preparation time to print, because the process is digital. Depending upon print run size and Holland & Crosby's workload, 5' x 10' posters that are ordered one day can be delivered the next and because it is digital, there is the ability to customize each sign, one by one. This technology will be very helpful to a large retailer, for example, who wants different messages depending upon location or region.
Additionally, because the Onset can be operated by only one person and is much faster than current digital flatbed printers, there are considerable cost efficiencies. "Now, retailers have the benefit of ordering higher quality materials with even faster delivery times, cost-effectively. It gives them the opportunity to extend their campaigns by adding another project to their marketing plans without increasing their initial budgets," explains Petrolo.
"Holland & Crosby is already receiving considerable interest from retailers and ad agencies. We believe that a printer who can handle emergency orders almost overnight, with exceptional quality, the ability to customize, and extremely competitive pricing has a tremendous advantage in the marketplace," says Scott Crosby, Holland & Crosby equity partner.
