As last Monday morning dawned in Brisbane, Océ Business Development Manager Jane Cox and a small team of Océ product and technical experts had already been busy for some time, preparing for the launch of the company’s new Pop Up Showroom, which is this week bringing the revolutionary Océ Colorado 1640 to the Queensland capital.
The event is proving a hit with Brisbane print service providers, with one contract already written for a Océ Colorado 1640 and a steady stream of visitors taking the opportunity to see technology in action, as the company concludes just the first week of its visit to the Queensland capital.
The Pop-Up Showroom, a new innovation for Océ, is equipped with a fully-operational Colorado machine and stocked with an assortment of different media and application examples. Live demos and information sessions are running each day, with local product and technical specialists on hand to take visitors through the potential of the machine for their individual business situations.
The idea, says Cox, is to give Brisbane business owners and key decision makers the chance to see Océ ’s game-changing UVgel technology in action.
“Print is a competitive market and it’s not always practical for key people to drop everything and travel to an industry show,” she says. “We don’t want anyone to miss out on this technology, so we’re bringing bring the Colorado to our customers, rather than expecting them to come to us.”
As well as live demonstrations of the 64” roll-to-roll Océ Colorado 1640, the Pop-Up presentations run through the Océ story, with a focus on the development of UVgel technology and the Colorado, and address key issues like productivity, quality and ROI. Visitors can examine a range of sample applications, including posters, floor and window graphics, backlit panels and outdoor banners, and even bring a sample job of their own to ‘test drive’ the machine.
“Feedback so far, particularly from those who haven’t seen the Colorado in action before, has been really positive,” Cox says, adding that in addition to this week’s sale, many visitors have already visited a second time to take another look at the machine and test more media, while others have brought their whole production team in to see the machine ‘up close and personal’.
