Regular readers will note we have a new masthead for Wide Format On-Line. Don't worry, we are still dedicated to the wide format signage, display, POP, vehicle wrapping, exhibition and billboard markets.
Lord Kelvin's 'Syphon Recorder' |
Inkjet technology is gathering pace and the latest survey by smitherspira predicts it will be a global USD$100 billion sector by 2023. Wide format started it all with the Iris Graphics and Encad machines in the early 1990s - although the invention of ejectable ink droplets is credited to Lord Kelvin as long ago as 1867, with his 'Syphon Recorder' used in transcribing early transatlantic submarine cable messages.
We're all for the future and see exciting times ahead for inkjet technologies of all kinds but particularly what we know as 'wide format' applications. We hope you like our bright new look and we look forward to bringing our 20,000 readers more news about printheads, inks, applications, printers, rips, market trends and much more!"
