HP will feature its latest wide-format Latex R-Series at next week’s Visual Impact show in Sydney, giving visitors the country’s first look at “the first hybrid solution for rigid and flexible sign and display printing in one device."

For the past decade, HP’s Latex printing technology has been at the forefront of driving possibilities in large-format printing. The new R-Series printers are the company’s first entry into rigid print with latex ink technology – a move which ‘adds depth’ to its portfolio and offers maximum value to businesses, says Michelle Lees, marketing manager, Graphics Solutions Business, HP Australia.
“To compete in today’s demanding market, print service providers need new ways to increase production and efficiency, while expanding the range of applications they can offer their clients and ensuring they find new and creative ways to add value to their work,” says Lee.
“It’s about equipping businesses to say ‘yes’ more often. That’s what the breakthrough R-Series technology delivers, and we’re excited to be showing this in action on our stand, to give Visual Impact visitors the opportunity to see just how productive and profitable they can be.”
The range employs HP’s water-based latex ink technology – known for its ability to preserve the look and feel of media while delivering odourless prints that are safe for both operator and the environment – to bring unparalleled speed and quality to both rigid and flexible printing.
“The R-Series also debuts HP’s new white Latex ink, opening new possibilities for print service providers by delivering high-quality, glossy prints in ‘true white’ which don’t yellow over time like some traditional UV-curable white inks,” says Jeremy Brew, application specialist – HP Large Format Printing.
Automatic maintenance, proactive and preventive services via HP Smart Services, and operator assistance options make this a safe, reliable and highly productive machine, says HP. The transpirable mesh belt allows high speed, high quality printing on a wide range of flexible and rigid materials up to 50mm thick.
HP will run live demonstrations of both the 2.5m-wide HP Latex R2000 (pictured above) and 1.64m-wide HP Latex R1000, on its Visual Impact stand [C8], alongside an application gallery.
“With its wider format and high-capacity ink cartridges, the HP Latex R2000 is designed for larger signage providers who need maximum workflow efficiency and sustained production,” says Brew. “Its smaller sibling, the HP Latex R1000 printer, released in July, is ideal for growing businesses or those with space constraints, providing a more compact yet cost-effective option for printing flexible and rigid media, enabling them to cost-effectively produce a wide range of retail, outdoor, exhibition and decorative products.
“The R-Series is another step forward in HP’s ongoing quest to continually reinvent the possibilities of print and offer our customers the best possible print experience. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand next week, answering their questions and showing these revolutionary new machines in action.”
Visual Impact runs from 12 – 14 September at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. Those intending to visit are encouraged to pre-register via this registration link. To book a demo of the HP Latex R-Series click here or email hplatex@hp.com
