Imagination Graphics (NSW), Revolution Print (VIC), Tennyson Group (QLD), Whoyou Creative (SA), Tako Print Solutions (WA) and Elect Printing (ACT) are the finalists in this year’s Konica Minolta National Specialised Print Awards (NSPA), which attracted a record number of entries.
The NSPAs celebrate craftsmanship in digital printing produced on a Konica Minolta digital press system, and following the event’s success in 2016 and 2017, KM this year extended the categories to acknowledge a wider range of digital print and imaging work.
The judging team reviewed the highest number of entries to date, with 246 entries in five categories: Digital Flat Sheet; Digital Print Bound Books; Digital Brochures and Booklets; Digital Label Print; and Digital Embellishment.
“The event is really growing from strength to strength and the standard of work is outstanding and getting higher every year,” says Grant Thomas, product marketing manager, Konica Minolta Australia. “We had a good mixture of entries across all five categories, with digital brochures and booklets being very popular and also an increased number of entries in digital labels and digital embellishment.”
All six state finalists will travel to Sydney in a couple of weeks for the announcement of the overall winner.
“We’ll bring all the state finalists to Sydney on October 24thand the final judging will take place that afternoon before the winner is announced at a customer event in the Park Hyatt at 7.30pm,” says Thomas. “It creates some headaches for the judges but it’s a good way to do it, keeping the winner a secret so that the people in the room that night will be the first to know.”
