Screen GP Australia managing director Peter Scott will be on hand to greet Australian and New Zealand customers at next month's Hunkeler Innovation Days to be held in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Nice spot for a trade show – Lucerne is often described Europe’s most picturesque city |
Hunkeler’s Innovation Days held in Lucerne, Switzerland has become the de facto hub of all things to do with high-volume inkjet web digital production. Almost all suppliers and their high-volume customers in direct mail, transactional and book printing flock to Messe Lucerne with digital presses, finishing and software/workflow, from 25th to 28th February.
Screen will be staging live demonstrations using the two latest models from its Truepress Jet520 series of high-speed, roll-fed inkjet presses. It also plans to introduce a wide variety of other cutting-edge solutions.
These solutions will include an on-demand book and commercial printing system that combines Screen’s latest Truepress Jet520HD+ model with enhanced drying functions and SC inks to deliver high-quality output on offset coated papers. The Truepress Jet520HD+ utilizes a newly developed NIR additional drying unit to boost print speeds and improve quality when using coated papers. This allows the system to handle a wider range of applications than ever before.

Peter Scott, managing director of Screen GP Australia, says: “When we introduced the 520HD press a little over three years ago, the market was surprised by its offset-like image quality. It was the first time high-speed inkjet demonstrated the capability for effectively printing jobs that approached offset quality. Development has been on-going since that time, with the SC inks and new drying system being the most significant advancement.”
The exhibits will also feature the Truepress Jet520NX, Screen’s next-generation standard for transaction printing. In addition to its well-known responsiveness, quality and productivity, this model incorporates an extra printhead designed for functional inks, enabling it to produce greater added value in the variable printing field.
The Truepress Jet520NX will be loaded with invisible UV fluorescent inks, marking the first time they have been exhibited in Europe. Screen will introduce security printing and other solutions that make use of their highly effective anti-counterfeiting capabilities.
Screen will also cooperate with Horizon to stage a demonstration of Book of One, a solution that enables automated printing and binding of individual books, at the Horizon booth (S3, Hall 2). The system is based around Screen’s Equios solution platform, which is linked to Horizon’s Smart Binding System for on-demand book production.
Scott welcomes all visitors to booth P6 in Hall 2 at Lucerne’s Hunkeler Innovation Days: “This will be my third time there and it’s always good to see the progress and meet up with Australian and New Zealand customers. I can guarantee that visitors will come away impressed with the new levels of near-offset quality achievable on our digital inkjet presses.”
