Hard to miss: the orange mobile dental clinic

Admark Visual Imaging has taken out one of the top awards at the New Zealand Pride In Print awards for a vehicle wrap that advertised a mobile dental clinic for the Waitemata District Health Board in Auckland.

The wrap won Best Inkjet Process and was a highlight of Admark’s best ever awards night: the company won seven gold medals across various printing disciplines, and was inducted into the new ‘50 gold medals club.’

The mobile dental clinic, that will be used mostly in west Auckland schools, was wrapped in a vivid orange design with various large picture bubbles with images inside.

Judges said the van had presented a complex application job, especially with the large circular pattern on the sides going across several different surfaces, and curves around the headlights and windscreen that had been ‘well executed.’

The job was printed on a 3M Epson SureColor 580600 using 10 colours and eco-solvent ink.

“With the intensity of colour, the van was very fit for purpose as a mobile clinic that children would enjoy seeing,” said judge Bruce Lees. “It was a one-off job and very well done over very difficult surfaces, and especially with it being all circles done in panels. When you print circles like this in panels, you can’t be even a little bit out. The print ran seamlessly over a variety of surfaces.”
