This year’s PrintEx19 will include a sustainability solution from ABC Copier Solutions to deal with the growing problem of older equipment that's no longer required by Australian printing businesses. The service has already been adopted by major franchise groups including Kwik Kopy, Snap, Minuteman Press and Worldwide.

The average lifespan of a digital printer, copier or scanner in an Australian business is about 3-5 years. But the world’s growing e-waste challenge, plus the escalating cost of disposal, can make getting rid of redundant equipment problematic and expensive.
Jaxon Crocker, founder and MD of ABC Copier Solutions, will be at PrintEx19 in Sydney in August to explain how he can not only take the time and expense out of machine disposal with ABC’s quick-turnaround service, but also reduce waste to landfill.
“Technology moves so quickly these days that Australian businesses must have a program of constant reinvestment to stay competitive,” he says. “The majority of PrintEx visitors will be there to look for their next generation equipment – and we want to show them a better option for the disposal and recycling of their older kit.”
Previously. equipment owners often found themselves paying the vendor to remove older equipment – often at costs well over $1000 – or coordinating the dismantling, removal and disposal of the equipment themselves.
“It just didn’t make sense – I knew there had to be a way to make better use of equipment which had reached the end of its useful life here in Australia, while reducing environmental waste and lessening the burden on owners,” says Crocker.
ABC Copier Solutions will remove everything from large digital production devices to small copiers and scanners from any Australian city. They’ll be dismantled, packed into shipping containers and sent to a Singapore, where they’ll be reassembled and reconditioned for use in markets including China, Thailand and Burma.
“This effectively extends the life of these machines for many years and not only does it not cost the owner anything, we’ll actually pay them for the machine we take away, giving them a nice little bonus towards their PrintEx purchases,” Crocker says.
ABC Copier Solutions will be on stand C01 at PrintEx, which will run from Tuesday August 13 – Friday August 16, at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. Register for the show at https://rpg.infosalons.com.au/PRINTEX19S/
