Women in Print announced dates for its annual Breakfast Series which this year will focus on Mental Health and Wellbeing. “Empowering women to recognise mental health wellness both within their professional and personal lives and also that of their colleagues and industry peers is an area we felt we wanted to shine a light on.”
“Enduring the difficulties of COVID we recognised women, and our industry more broadly, need support across more than economical and professional development to rebuild and recover for the future,” said Women in Print chair Susan Heaney.
The breakfast series, led by Man Anchor, Steve Gamble and Ashleigh Wilson, will explore:
Mental health in Australia
What Is Mental Heath
The flow of Mental Health
Stress, Distress and Crisis
Maladaptive & Adaptive coping strategies
Positive & Negative thought process
Self Care
Steve Gamble, founder, Man Anchor, said: “We are thrilled to be selected to work with Women in Print and the Breakfast Series. Both myself and Ashleigh work within the industry and understand the value of Women in Print and the important role it plays. Having the opportunity to start the conversation about mental wellness for so many across the industry is a real privilege and honour. We are truly looking forward to these wonderful events.”
The breakfast series will take place in May this year, later than the usual March events, due to COVID restrictions. The dates are: Brisbane on 12th May, Sydney on 13th May, Adelaide on 20th May, Perth on 21st May and Melbourne on the 25th of May.
The Real Media Collective, who organise the breakfast events, is keen to build a training platform from the event to an expanded Mental Health First Aid Certificate, self-resilience training and networking programs - to continue the breakfast series from a single event to a twelve-month focus.
“Women in Print is an established community and we look to working harder together to collaborate, share and learn,” said Kellie Northwood, CEO, The Real Media Collective. “Empowering each other with knowledge and tools is the first step, the Women in Print Patrons look forward to building more webinars and events to share more learnings and experiences as well as building an industry-wide mentor program. We are slowly building these programs and calling on more sponsors to support these initiatives for our industry.
Confirmed Partner sponsors for the breakfast series is an impressive line-up including Media Super, Cactus Imaging, IVE Group, Heidelberg, Lamson Paragon and Ovato.
Associate sponsors include Ball & Doggett, DIC, HP, Konica Minolta, Spicers. Industry sponsors include Advance Press, Bright Print Group, Creative Juice SA, Heaney’s Performers in Print and Taylor’d Press. Association sponsors include The Real Media Collective and Visual Connections.
