Leading Melbourne wide and superwide printer Vivad has announced it will close only on public holidays and weekends over the festive break. Business must be good and it's a great signal for the overall industry that demand is strong, even over Christmas/New Year.

Vivad team 24Ewen Donaldson and his Vivad team - work never stops over the festive break!

Vivad Logo NewVivad Manging Director, Ewen Donaldson posted: "Our team can't stand the thought of being away from Vivad for more than a few days. It's just too triggering. So we are staying open throughout the festive season. Weekends and public holidays excluded."Vivad Ewen DonaldsonVivad MD, Donaldson

Vivad specialises in banners, exhibition displays, soft signage, flags, light boxes, SEGwalls, billboards - in fact just about anything in Large Format. The company even printed and fabricated seat covers for the Australian Open tennis arena during covid - in record turn-around time. The company was founded by Ewen Donaldson in 2000 as a spin-off from his family's Polyweld truck curtain business. He recognised the potential of inkjet digital printing and started off with a 5-metre wide Vutek machine, which grew to six Vutek machines over 13 years.

More expansion ahead

Today, Vivad operates out of a 4,000 sqm purpose-built site in Campbellfield, Victoria and will be announcing further expansion plans in the New Year.

From the earlier days of six Vutek machines, Vivad now owns six Durst superwide printers on the floor and an array of other printers and formats. Vivad's factory is set up like Noah's Ark with two of everything! 2x Durst Dye sub machines up to 3.2 metres, 2x Durst flat bed machines, 2x Durst 5 metre wide machines, 2x HP Latex machines, 3x Cutters and a team of 50 to drive efficient production in a competitive environment.

Vivad’s biggest strength is it’s web-to-print portal. Bonafide trade customers who register at www.vivad.com.au  as a reseller, once verified, get 30% off the ticket price when they register with their reseller credentials.

“A lot of our trade clients don’t want to tell anyone about it because they see Vivtrack as being their little competitive advantage” says Donaldson

Vivad is into fabrics and soft signage in a big way with over 20 different 'VivaFrame' aluminium extrusions. Clients can order custom frames and graphics online.

Vivad has recently released a new 16mm VivaFrame extrusion in black and clear anodised. It accommodates corners but not cross braces. It is perfect for smaller frames less than 1.2 metres, or frames being screwed to a wall.

Noticeable for its funky trade print exhibition stands at PrinEx and PacPrint shows, Vivad is a shining example of Australian home-grown ingenuity, drive and passion for 'getting it right.'

Staying 'lights-on' over the festive break is a great service to customers, many of who will be getting ready for January sale time. Well done Ewen and team!
