Award-winning Wolli Creek-based design studio and signage production facility, Factory One, visited PacPrint with the primary goal of purchasing a second HP Latex R-Series 2000 printer.
Factory One invests in second HP Latex R2000
Andrew Hall, Managing Directory, Factory One says: "Celmac and HP went above and beyond to help us get the first machine in and up to speed, and this was a game changer for us being only a small sign shop at the time.”
“Demand for our acoustic panel printing is now exceeding 300 panels a month and this segment of the market only came about because we bought our first R2000 back in 2019, hence the decision to put a second press in; and both HP and Celmac have been there from the start, so it’s great to be able to share our growth and success together with them."
The HP Latex R-Series 2000 printer is well-known for its 2.5-metre print width, high-opacity white ink, and broad media compatibility. It is designed for high-performance output across a wide range of rigid and flexible materials including foamboard, PVC, wood, acrylic, corrugated cardboard, and aluminium composite panels, in addition to flexible media like vinyl, banner, and paper – making it ideal for signage, display graphics, and retail applications.
Wayne McIntyre, CEO CelmacMcIntyre says: “The R2000 gives customers the ability to produce bigger, bolder and brighter products, including metallics, fluorescents and glossy whites, opening the door for us to sell to clients across multiple industries, producing everything from durable outdoor signage, point-of-sale displays, and exhibition panels, to premium back-lits, interior décor, and packaging prototypes, all with great colour, scratch-resistant finishes, and water-based inks that meet environmental certifications.”
Celmac used PacPrint to showcase a wide range of hardware solutions, with a focus on end-to-end production workflows from printing to finishing. The stand highlights new technologies and robust equipment from leading global brands, tailored for the signage, display, and print sectors.
Also featured on the Celmac stand were the:
- HP Latex 830: a 1600mm roll-to-roll printer engineered for high-speed production at around 25 square metres per hour, with front-loading capability for space efficiency, a large touchscreen display, and an integrated white ink set known for its durability and non-yellowing performance.
- Neolt XY trimmer: a finishing tool that automatically trims both X and Y axes using a sensor-detected registration mark, to address bottlenecks in post-print workflows, especially for high-volume sign and poster producers.
- Kala Mistral laminator: a robust, entry-level laminator that accommodates 100-metre rolls and includes features such as gas-assisted lifting, slitting knives for pre- and post-lamination trimming, and an auto-calibrating roller to ensure consistent pressure and alignment.
- Kala flatbed applicator: an electrically controlled unit designed for mounting self-adhesive vinyl onto substrates like ACM, coreflute, and panel boards in modular sizing up to nine metres.
- HP Latex R530: an all-in-one roll and rigid substrate printer with a print width of 1600mm, positioned as a compact solution for businesses seeking rigid print capability without the footprint or power demands of high-end models.
- iEcho BK4: a 1.6m x 2.6m flatbed cutting table with optional router functionality, designed for accurate digital die-cutting and routing, and with dual gantry options for high-speed workflows.
- Roland DG DA-640 Dimense: an enhanced, next generation, structural inkjet printer (now built entirely on a Roland engine) which now allows users to print both textured and flat applications and on an expanded range of specialist media.
- Epson SureColor S9160: a wide-format eco-solvent printer replacing the SC-8600, offering exceptional Pantone colour matching through an expanded ink set which now includes orange, and green, with optional white or metallic silver.
