Husband and wife directors of Print Graphics Steve and Karon Hough first viewed the unit at drupa in Germany last June. "It was a very solid machine and could do UV varnish," Steve explained. "We came back to Australia and visited some Melbourne sites that were running earlier versions of the :Anapurna and after speaking with them decided to go ahead and purchase it."

The :Anapurna Mv model is unique in terms of being the only machine currently on the market that can apply a UV varnish to a finished printed result. The ability to image full or spot varnishes means that additional services can be offered to printers who are already supplying varnished work using offset technologies.

Print Graphic Displays took advantage of this and were the first Australia installation prior to last month's Visual Impact Image Expo in Sydney. Steve and Karon found the installation to be a smooth process with few bumps along the way; so smooth that the :Anapurna Mv was up and running in a day-and-a-half.

One month later and they continue to be impressed by its capabilities. "We keep finding more and more things that we can use it for," Steve said.

The :Anapurna Mv takes the original 160 centimetre wide :Anapurna M and prints either spot or overall UV varnish to further improve printed materials' cosmetic appearance and add customer appeal.

The :Anapurna Mv uses state-of-the-art 14 picoliter printheads and Agfa-made UV-curable :Anapurna ink. The :Anapurna Mv brings photo quality UV technology to trade service providers, graphic screen printing and sign making shops at an affordable investment cost.

Agfa also announced the further expansion of its high successful :Anapurna M family by introducing the :Anapurna M4F at the recent Visual Impact Image Expo show in Sydney. The :Anapurna M4F is a 4 colour flatbed, wide format industrial inkjet printer designed for printing high quality POP, displays, posters, exhibition panels, stage graphics, ad panels and so much more.

With a print resolution of 720x1440 dpi, the M4F prints on a large variety of media up to 160 centimetre wide. And the optional roll to roll unit adds additional versatility. The Mv and M4F together with the :Anapurna M, offer a full range of features designed to deliver high quality indoor and outdoor signs and displays.
