At a press conference held at Agfa’s Sydney offices the Australian and New Zealand trade were treated to an excellent example of an industrial inkjet print applications utilising two of Agfa’s cutting edge inkjet technologies. A collector set of beer coasters designed by renowned Belgian Illustrator Ever Meulen have been produced as a promotional gift.

“At the recent drupa we promoted heavily our Belgian heritage” said Regional Marketing Manager Garry Muratore. “Belgium is famous for many things including beer and comic book illustrators, so to build on that theme to showcase what both the M-Press and Dotrix are capable of makes an excellent promotion” said Muratore.

Both the coasters and packaging featured the catchy designs of Ever Meulen. Meulen is a noted Belgian Illustrator and comic strip artist. His work has appeared in Humo, the magazine for which he drew "Balthazar de Groene Steenvreter" ("Balthasar the Green Stone Eater") and "Piet Peuk" ("Pete Stub"). Since the 80s Meulen has not drawn comics, but has continued to draw illustrations, most notably for the columns and covers of Humo. as well as a few covers for The New Yorker.

Agfa intends to utilise the coasters as live promotional demonstrations at the upcoming PacPrint show to be held in Melbourne during May.
