Applications are now open for the 2013 GAMAA Industry Overseas Internship Grant valued at $15,000.
This grant, instituted by GAMAA in 2012, allows the successful applicant to undertake an internship with companies of their choosing anywhere in the world. Internships can be undertaken in marketing, new media, print, graphic design and other nominated disciplines related to the print media field. The outcome of the successful Grant will be a research paper documenting the recipient’s experience and how these learnings can be applied to the Australian market.
The 2012 GAMAA Industry Overseas Internship Grant recipient, Peter Barnet, has recently embarked on his research tour of the US, which includes an intensive workshop in New York with one of Barnet’s heroes - innovator, entrepreneur and best-selling author, Seth Godin. Barnet will also meet with a number of companies who are leaders in innovation in print and digital communication in Boston and New York as well as attending Graph Expo in Chicago and the Direct Marketing Association show in Las Vegas. On his return Barnet will report back on his findings and present a paper to GAMAA as part of the Grant acquittal.
GAMAA Executive Director Karen Goldsmith said, “I encourage those who are interested in applying for the GAMAA Grant to call me to discuss their project prior to submitting an application. We are looking for new ideas that will benefit not only the recipient, but also the industry. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone who wants to think outside the square, think big and bold and push boundaries”.
Applications for the 2013 GAMAA Industry Overseas Internship Grant close on 15th March, 2013 and the successful applicant will be advised by 1st May, 2013. Please visit the GAMAA website for more information – www.gamaa.net.au - or call GAMAA on (02) 9869 0010
