In the last few years, Durst's development of inkjet technologies has significantly contributed to analog processes being replaced by digital production processes.

This has enhanced the flexibility and efficiency of the systems' users, to react to given market situations and to realize new market opportunities. Durst's multi-purpose solution is a UV-based Inkjet Printer System, which provides excellent results on just about any material and allows the print service provider to compile an extensive product portfolio. But the market is constantly evolving, new niches are created and requirements are constantly adapting, some of which are not suitable for UV-inks. Durst's continuous research and development is seeking to eventually eliminate all pollutants to provide a truly ´green`ink. For textile- and soft signage printing, Durst already provides printer systems with water-based dispersion-, acid- and reactive ink systems, that are free of volatile organic compounds (VOC). That is why the use of those textile materials for large-format printing is increasingly popular . Durst's latest innovation takes the next level to provide a sustainability potential for classical advertising media and classical applications: The Rho WT 250 HS uses water-based inks to print on a large variety of substrates.

Durst Water Technology does not actually replace the proven UV-printer systems, but expands the existing production portfolio with migration-, pollutant-, and odorfree solutions, which are currently in high demand with the interior-, packaging and POS segment.
