Epson Australia will showcase latest technologies including laser projectors, PrecisionCore inkjet business printers and new smart glasses under its theme Future Technology for the Future Generation at this year’s EduTECH exhibition from 6-7 June at the ICC in Darling Harbour, Sydney.
EduTECH is an annual event where the entire education and training sector gather together to learn, debate and exchange ideas. It’s the only event in the country that brings together the entire lifecycle of education under one roof.
On Epson’s custom-built stand (#921) some of the highlights include the EB-1470Ui ultra-short throw laser projector. "As highlighted in this study, the importance of readability when it comes to classroom displays cannot be understated," says Epson. "Powered by breakthrough laser technology, the EB-1470Ui transforms any classroom into a collaborative learning space. The EB-1470Ui also facilitates better communication by turning nearly any flat surface interactive, displaying larger-than-life, Full HD WUXGA images up to 100" diagonal. Plus, it provides up to 20,000 hours of virtually maintenance-free operation.
Also on show is the EB-L1505 high brightness installation projector with ultra-short throw lens, ELPLX02. This projector enables users to go beyond high definition with Epson’s unique 4K enhancement technology and native WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution. The EB-L1505 delivers up to 3x brighter colours relative to comparable projectors.
Another feature will be the LightScene EV-100 series, a new type of projector that has been created to blend into the background with a sleek, conventional lighting design available in black or white.

The 2,000-lumen WXGA EV-100 can work as either a projector or a spotlight without distracting viewers from the subject. The LightScene EV-100’s unobtrusive design is ideal for curated visual environments such as classrooms, museum exhibits and art installations, where minimal visual clutter is key. It can be used to provide information, show video or moving patterns, and even projection map imagery onto small objects.
Taking care of business in the office printing department is the WorkForce WF-C579R business printer. “Representing responsible printing for the future – the WF-C579R uses 87% less power (there will be a live demo against a competitor model to show this power consumption advantage in real time) and prints 7 times more than laser printers – the WorkForce Pro WF-C579R offers high-productivity colour printing that's easy on the budget,” says Epson. “Powered by PrecisionCore inkjet technology, this compact MFP features a replaceable ink pack system with extra high-capacity packs that can deliver enough ink to print up to 50,000 black / 20,000 colour ISO pages black before changing the packs. It also produces fast, pro-quality prints with speeds of 24 ISO ppm in black and colour with no warmup time.”
Epson will also be demonstrating the latest in AR smartglasses with its Moverio BT-300. “With Epson’s acclaimed Si-OLED-powered, binocular, transparent BT-300 smartglasses you don’t just read the text book, you have it come alive in front of your eyes.”
