Six enhancements introduced to boost the performance of Gerber Solara UV2

Spandex have added six enhancements to boost the performance of the Gerber Solara UV2 hybrid inkjet printer including a “Full-Bleed Print Mode”, allowing users to print 152 x 304 cm edge-to-edge graphics on rigid materials up to 13 mm thick; and a new “Performance Print Mode”, designed to increase capacity by way of a two-pass print function. The improvements to the Solara, will allow users to print up to 18 signs at 1.2 m x 2.4 m in size, or 200 signs at 45 cm x 61 cm in size, in a single day and with high-quality results.

New study shows huge opportunities in the Chinese digital print market

The results of the extensive study of the Chinese market indicate rapid adoption of digital print technology. In 2005, the market for digital printing in China was estimated at nearly $376 million in terms of retail value of print and it is forecast to grow to nearly $5 billion by 2010, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of an astounding 66%. The total Chinese printing market is forecast to increase from $60 billion in 2006 to $113 billion in 2010, at a 17% CAGR.

FESPA Directors Summit brings together industry leaders to discuss the future

The inaugural FESPA Directors Summit took place in Geneva, 22nd – 23rd March 2007, bringing together 70 leaders from Europe’s print service provider community and 25 top executives from equipment manufacturers, such as Jan Vangeel of Agfa, Chet Pribonic of EFI, Francois Martin of HP, Arthur Vanhoutte of Mutoh, and Elie Keersmaekers of Roland.
