Epson has signed a technology and sustainability agreement to support First Nations Fashion + Design (FNFD), the NFP Indigenous Corporation whose goal is promoting the growth of the Indigenous fashion sector. Under the partnership, First Nations designers will gain access to Epson digital printing technologies.

The skills shortage and training is recognised as a major challenge in today's graphic communications industry. Industry supplier Starleaton is not sitting on the sidelines regarding this, announcing 'Jump Start' at Visual Impact last week. Jump Start is a programme that finds candidates, places them with employers and Starleaton pays for the training.

In what is believed to be Australia's only inkjet ink manufacturing plant, Memjet has announced the opening of a state-of-the-art dye-based ink manufacturing plant in Sydney. The new facility will produce Memjet’s advanced ink formulations in a quality-controlled, automated production environment.

With the Coronation of King Charles III, it occured to me to look back in the family archives to discover my grandfather's invitation to the last Coronation - that of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Having received an invitation (actually a 'command') to attend King Charles's, I thought it interesting to compare the graphic design of 1953 to 2023. Typography, use of colour, style, all have changed apart from the calligraphy, which appears to be the same.
